Moringa removes 98% of microplastics from drinking water, outperforming chemical alternatives

Moringa is thought to have been used by Ancient Egyptians to sterilise water.

A millenia-old purification technique could be the cure for Europe’s microplastic-riddled drinking water.

In a recent study, seeds from the ‘miracle’ moringa tree were found to match or outperform their chemical counterpart in filtering out aged PVC microplastics – one of the most harmful plastic types for human health. The findings could pave the way for a greener alternative for treatment plants.

Forty years after the last one was poached, rhinos are back in the wild in Uganda

For the first time in more than four decades, rhinos have returned to Uganda’s Kidepo Valley National Park, where poachers once wiped them out for their horns and meat.

On Tuesday, two southern white rhinos became the first of eight animals intended to re-establish a population in the park. The last rhino there was killed in 1983, the Uganda Wildlife Authority, which is responsible for the relocation said.

A motivational image featuring collectible action figures from the Masters of the Universe franchise. On the left, He-Man, the muscular hero with blond hair, wields his iconic Power Sword while riding Battle Cat, a large green tiger with orange stripes and red armor. On the right, Skeletor, the blue-skinned villain with a yellow skull face, raises his Havoc Staff while mounted on Panthor, a fierce purple panther. The two figures face each other in a dramatic standoff against a dark, glowing background of purples, blues, and pinks that gives the scene an otherworldly, battle-ready atmosphere. Overlaying the scene in bold white capital letters is a supportive message that reads: "SENDING LOVE TO EVERYONE WHO FEELS OVERWHELMED. WITH WORK, WITH LOVE, WITH LIFE. BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF AND TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME. YOU GOT THIS." The powerful, uplifting text contrasts with the dynamic battle imagery, reinforcing a message of encouragement and resilience.
